Self Portrait With Wife Nude. Oversized 19″ x 16″. 1969 Blaxploitation Art Photo. DETAILS: Set of two original self portrait photographs taken by jazz musician Louis Jordan. Jordan was a well known jazz musician during the 1930′s-1950′s. He was also an accomplished photographer who worked with subjects in the African American community. During the 1960′s his photographic style extended into the Blaxploitation realm with several provocative works that explored racial stereotypes and human sexuality. In the above set of photos he is pictured with his wife Martha Weaver, a former showgirl who performed in the Negro Vaudeville Circuit during segregation.
